The caches with plans in them seem to be in the areas you’ll access earlier in Fallout 76, so focus on those rather than trying to make it to high-level areas like the Cranberry Bog. This quest requires you to find the Overseer’s caches left all over the map, some of which include one or more plans. One simple way to find useful plans is to follow the Overseer quest. The menu prompt to interact with the plans will say “Read,” but to make them available you’ll still have to go into your Pip-Boy and read them. This applies even when you find a plan out in the Wasteland (not in a box or as a quest reward). To do this, find them in your Pip-Boy (under Notes) and select them. Once you have the plans, you’ll need to read them before they appear in your crafting menu. You begin the game with a handful of basic plans, but to get the really cool or elite stuff, you’ll have to do some searching.
